About the Author:
Dr. Trey Guinn is professor and chair of Communication Arts at University of the Incarnate Word. He is also a Business Communication Specialist for the University of Texas at Austin and Communication Coach with the McCombs School of Business. His teaching, research and professional work focus primarily on communication effectiveness and human relationships.
As a speaker, facilitator, and executive coach, Trey helps people achieve personal and professional goals and master communication skills. He frequently works with groups and professionals locally and across the globe from companies such as American Express, Apple, AT&T, Bain, BBVA-Compass, BCG, Chevron, Deloitte, Dell, Facebook, Harvard Business School, Intel, Intuit, GE, Hewlett-Packard, McKinsey, Microsoft, PWC, Salesforce, Shell, Snap, and more.
Trey earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Baylor University and his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. His scholarship has been presented and published internationally. He remains actively involved with numerous academic organizations, and currently serves as president of the Fulbright Association - San Antonio chapter.
Guinn is an award-winning actor, avid runner, and kitchen experimenter. Most importantly, Trey is the husband to Shannon and dad to three incredible kids. The Guinns reside in Alamo Heights, Texas, where they can often be spotted walking the neighborhood and playing in the park.
